Allen & Overy advises Eni on the acquisition of Solar Konzept Greece

Allen & Overy has advised Eni on the acquisition, through Eni gas e luce, which will become Plenitude this year, of the Greek company Solar Konzept Greece (SKGR) from Solar Konzept International, whose majority stake is owned by Aquila Capital, a sustainable investment and asset development company, based in Hamburg,  (Germany). SKGR holds a platform for the development of solar plants in Greece.

SKGR’s asset portfolio comprises an approximately 800 MW pipeline of projects at various stages of development, which form the basis for further development of the portfolio of renewables in Greece. This acquisition represents Eni’s entry into the Greek renewable electricity generation market and is part of its plan to grow renewable capacity together with vertically integrated activities in the power retail business.

The Allen & Overy team, supported by Eni’s inhouse and M&A team, was led by Italy Corporate partner Paolo Ghiglione, with support from associate Davide Biasotti and trainee Matteo Bortolamai, in coordination with the Greek law firm Karatzas and Partners Law Firm, whose team comprised partner Valia Apostolopoulou and associates Konstantina Bantavi and Anastassia Petta.
