​Tomasz is an associate in the London office specialising in international arbitration. He has acted for a range of clients in cross-border commercial and investment treaty arbitrations under ICC, ICSID, LCIA and UNCITRAL Rules, involving a broad range of jurisdictions. Tomasz has also advised on the settlement of trade disputes before the World Trade Organization. Tomasz has a focus on advising clients in the energy sector and spent six months on secondment to the Global Litigation team at Royal Dutch Shell.

During his training contract, Tomasz spent six months on secondment to the International Arbitration group in the Paris office of Allen & Overy.

Experience highlights include:

  • acting for an oil and gas major in an ICC arbitration arising from a joint venture dispute in an offshore oil exploration project in West Africa
  • advising a group of 14 international investors in an UNCITRAL arbitration against the Kingdom of Spain under the Energy Charter Treaty relating to renewable energy subsidies
  • acting for an oil and gas major in a gas price review arbitration under the ICC rules relating to the German pipeline gas market
  • advising a number of infrastructure funds and private equity investors in relation to their investments in renewable energy infrastructure in the Kingdom of Spain
  • defending a South Asian State in two parallel investment treaty arbitrations brought against it in relation to an energy infrastructure project
  • acting for a multinational oil and gas company in a London-seated LCIA arbitration relating to the design, commissioning and installation of offshore production facilities in the Caspian Sea
  • advising a Western-European civil engineering company in an ICSID arbitration against a South-East Asian State relating to a major infrastructure project
  • representing the Republic of Cuba in its challenge of Australia’s Tobacco Plain Packaging Act 2011 before the World Trade Organisation, concerning various international treaties regarding trade and property rights
