  Nick Smith



Nick is head of our Middle East asset management group. He operates seamlessly across both our London and Dubai offices acting for numerous fund managers, sponsors and financial institutions on the establishment and management of and investment into investment funds. He also advises on a wide range of real estate matters, including large-scale developments, sales and purchases, lettings, corporate transactions and real estate financings, as well as corporate spin-offs and carve-out sales.

His clients include Mubadala and other sovereign wealth funds. He has a particular form on real estate funds and has for example advised Abraaj Capital on the establishment of a pan-MENA real estate fund. Nick chaired a panel of industry experts established by the DFSA to review the Dubai International Financial Centre’s Collective Investment Funds regime, with the DFSA bringing in changes to the regime in light of the panel’s recommendation.

Nick Smith is rated in Band 1 as a leading individual for Investment Funds Middle East-wide, and as a notable practitioner for Investments Funds: Real Estate Global-wide. (Chambers Global)
