  Michelle Porter-Wright



Michelle is a counsel in Allen & Overy’s Johannesburg office. She focuses her practice on the resolution of complex disputes in the energy, mining and infrastructure sectors, both through adjudication and arbitration. She has experience in the civil, mechanical, electrical and process engineering disciplines across EPC, EPCM, remeasurable, turnkey, and consultancy agreements, both standard form and bespoke. Her practice has a strong international focus, having worked on projects in Chile, Russia, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, the UK and Nigeria.

During 2016 and 2017, Michelle was ranked by Chambers Global for her work in South Africa’s construction sector. She holds an MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution from King’s College, London.

She is published in the South African Law Journal, the Stellenbosch Law Review, and the International Arbitration Review.
