  Maria Stimpson

Maria has over 20 years’ experience of pensions law and practice, including establishing, merging and winding up schemes, contingent funding arrangements, liability management, dispute resolution, legislative and regulatory compliance and discrimination issues. She started life as a company and commercial lawyer and also did a lot of litigation in her early years of practice and this has given her a wider focus than most. Maria has a particular interest in how the team delivers its advice and the proactive side of client service.

Maria sat for many years on the Investment Sub-committee of the Association of Pensions Lawyers and currently sits on the European Committee of the Society of Pensions Consultants. She is a regular speaker at external industry events and wrote the chapter on equal treatment in Tolley’s, The Guide to the Pensions Act.

"She is praised by clients for her "big-picture approach." Chambers UK 2016 (Pensions)

"Maria Stimpson is a ‘standout legal professional’ with a ‘very wide experience base’, and ‘runs a cohesive team’ "Legal 500 UK 2015 (Pensions)
