  Daniel Lim

Senior Associate

London

​Daniel is a senior associate in Allen & Overy's International IP Group. He has experience across the breadth of intellectual property litigation, with a particular focus on patent litigation in the life sciences industry.

Daniel graduated with honours degrees in both law and science (biochemistry). He regularly advises clients in relation to matters involving highly complex questions of both a legal and technical nature as well as providing strategic advice and co-ordination on large multi-jurisdictional patent disputes.

Highlights of Daniel's practice include:
 
securing urgent injunctive relief in the High Court of England and Wales to prevent the launch of a full label generic version of a multi-billion dollar blockbuster treatment for pain; and
 
successfully defending the validity and establishing the infringement of a key formulation patent protecting a treatment for Parkinson's disease, before the Federal Court of Australia.
 
Daniel has also spent three months on secondment to Sandoz and one year as the Associate to a Judge of the Federal Court of Australia. More recently, Daniel has been closely following industry and legal developments in CRISPR technology and is an active writer on the topic.
