Basil is a member of the Brussels Bar and focuses on white-collar crime and litigation.

Basil advises on criminal and regulatory risks, including in relation to fraud, bribery and corruption, money laundering, and sanctions and embargoes. In addition, he is involved in several local and cross-border pro bono projects. He has a special interest in European and international criminal law, and regularly contributes to publications and conferences in relation to these topics. Prior to joining Allen & Overy, he pursued internships at the International Criminal Court and the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia. In 2020, Basil obtained a certificate to practice criminal matters before the Belgian Supreme Court, and a certificate to assist clients in criminal interrogations.
