Andrew is a partner in the firm’s UK Banking, Finance and Regulatory Litigation practice and head of the UK Public Law Group.

In the finance litigation area, Andrew has particular expertise in litigation relating to complex structured financial products. He has acted in a number of derivatives and inter-creditor disputes, including appeals to the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court and has a leading practice acting for corporate trustees and agent banks.

In the public law area, Andrew regularly acts for parties bringing or defending judicial review claims and advises a number of public sector bodies on their powers and obligations. He also has substantial experience advising on public law and procurement issues in relation to major projects.

Andrew has been recognised in the major UK directories for several years as a leading individual for both banking litigation and public law. Chambers UK 2018 banking litigation clients state that Andrew "provides clear, concise explanations of complex issues and he can give strategic recommendations" while Legal 500 2018 describes him as a "first class practitioner who has excellent knowledge of the law". In commenting on Andrew’s public and administrative law practice, Legal 500 describes him as a “an excellent public law litigator with considerable experience and good tactical sense” and Chambers UK recognises that he “has established a very strong reputation for advising public sector bodies on their responsibilities and powers”.
