  Andrew Denny

Andrew is a partner in the firm’s UK Banking, Finance and Regulatory Litigation practice and head of the UK Public Law Group.

In the finance litigation area, Andrew has particular expertise in litigation relating to complex structured financial products. He has acted in a number of derivatives and inter-creditor disputes, including appeals to the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court and has a leading practice acting for corporate trustees and agent banks. He also acts for banks in conducting major regulatory and anti-trust investigations.

In the public law area, Andrew regularly acts for parties bringing or defending judicial review claims and advises a number of public sector bodies on their powers and obligations. He also has substantial experience advising on public law and procurement issues in relation to major projects.

Andrew has been recognised in the major UK directories for several years as a leading individual for both banking litigation and public law. The current edition of Chambers states that he is a "very good litigator who runs cases brilliantly," while Legal 500 2019 notes that he" has a fine track record for high-quality, complex investment banking disputes, is always on top of the issues in a case and gives his all for his clients".  In commenting on Andrew’s public and administrative law practice, Legal 500 describes him as a “an excellent public law litigator with considerable experience and good tactical sense” and Chambers UK recognises that he “has established a very strong reputation for advising public sector bodies on their responsibilities and powers”.
