The impact of A&O's support for War Child to date

A team from Allen & Overy and War Child has just got back from Jordan where they saw the impact of the work that the firm is funding in Emirati Jordanian Camp.

A&O colleagues from across the world have so far donated over GBP783,000 since the partnership began in November 2016. The first GBP500,000 is funding Rescue Childhood, an early education and development project that will help 2,160 children and their parents by April 2019.

Wim Dejonghe, Richard Grove, Mark Mansell and Kate Cavelle from A&O visited the project site with Tracy Deal and Nina Saffuri from War Child. The caravans where the Rescue Childhood sessions will take place have now been installed in the camp, and three teachers and three teaching assistants have been recruited.

A&O fully funded Rescue Childhood just six months into the partnership. We’ve since revised our fundraising target to GBP1 million which will help War Child provide education, psychosocial support and livelihoods training for children and families living in the most difficult circumstances.

Read more about our partnership with War Child in our new pro bono and community investment magazine, Increasing Access.
