Allen & Overy named UK's Graduate Employer of the Year

05 April 2017

Allen & Overy was named the UK’s Graduate Employer of the Year at the TARGETjobs Awards ceremony last week and was successful in three further categories, making it the only employer to ever win all four prizes in one night, in the 13-year history of the TARGETjobs Awards:

  • Best Graduate Recruiter in Law (12th consecutive year in a row)
  • Best Innovation in Graduate Recruitment (pan-industry)
  • Best Work Experience Programme in the UK (pan-industry)
  • Graduate Employer of the Year (pan-industry)
The TARGETjobs National Graduate Recruitment Awards are the UK’s largest early talent recruitment event. The sector-focussed awards were based on a national survey of 62,814 students and recent graduates from 126 universities, while other awards were decided by a select panel of students.
Allen & Overy’s success was attributed to its ‘combination of honesty and commitment when building a relationship with candidates’. The judging panel commented, ‘Allen & Overy have a most thorough approach to a personalised candidate experience… They were honest about challenges and career prospects, but clear in commitment to development wherever the career may go.’
In addition, the legal practice was recently awarded The Times High Fliers Employer of Choice in Law prize for the sixth time in seven years. This award is also voted for by students; specifically 20,162 finalists from the top 30 universities in the UK.
