Allen & Overy's Human Rights Working Group is pleased to publish the second issue of The Business and Human Rights Review, an interdisciplinary journal that brings together academia, businesses, NGOs and multilateral bodies to debate issues pertaining to the relationship between business and human rights.
The second issue includes a foreword by Justice Richard Goldstone (former Justice of the Constitutional Court of South Africa and chief prosecutor of the UN International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda), articles by Sir Mark Moody-Stuart (Vice Chair of the UN Global Compact and former Chairman of the Royal Dutch/Shell Group), Dr. Puvan Selvanathan (member of the UN Working Group on human rights and transnational corporations) and Dr. Youseph Farah (University of Essex), and contributions from the Institute for Human Rights and Business and UNICEF, as well as from our own lawyers.
Topics covered in this issue include, among others, the human rights considerations for businesses investing in Myanmar, the importance of Global Compact Local Networks in implementing the UN Guiding Principles, the experiences of companies implementing the Principles on Children's Rights and Business and an update on transnational human rights litigation.
