Allen & Overy brings leading legal tech and reg tech start-ups to Singapore for a week of innovation and inspiration

Allen & Overy is hosting Fuse AsiaWeek in Singapore from 12 to 16 November, 2018.

Fuse AsiaWeek will bring together established legal technology companies from Allen & Overy’s collaborative London innovation space Fuse, early-stage Singapore-based start-ups, government representatives and clients to learn, discuss and leverage new opportunities to advance their tech agenda. This is the first of its kind in Asia.

Housed within Allen & Overy’s London office, Fuse was designed to explore, develop and test legal, regulatory and deal-related solutions. Allen & Overy lawyers and in-house legal tech experts work collaboratively with the companies in Fuse to address clients’ challenges in better, smarter and more cost-efficient ways.

Fuse AsiaWeek was inspired by clients in Asia who are eager to exploit new applications such as blockchain technologies, smart contracts and machine-learning to address their business challenges related to regulatory compliance and deal-making. Three AI companies from Fuse with specialisms from document management, automated contract platforms to document review will be in Singapore for a week to showcase their technology solutions.

Allen & Overy partner Tim Beech comments: “Many of the financial institutions and corporations we have spoken with are enthusiastic about Fuse AsiaWeek, which brings to the forefront the challenges they face, together with innovative technologists and the capabilities of a global law firm to find solutions. Clients are keen to talk to us about our experience of working with other clients to help them benchmark themselves and to identify new opportunities.”

Fuse AsiaWeek will also create an opportunity for Singapore government representatives, Singapore’s legal tech start-ups and Allen & Overy to discuss legal innovation, the wider implementation of legal tech, and the growth of Singapore’s legal tech ecosystem.

Celia Sia, Director, Professional Services Programme Office, Economic Development Board (EDB) commentsWe are delighted that Allen & Overy has decided to organise Fuse AsiaWeek in Singapore. This complements our efforts to be at the forefront of technology and innovation in the legal sector. Fuse AsiaWeek will present exciting opportunities for the international and local community to collaborate and exchange ideas.”
