Allen & Overy bolsters global IP team with appointment of Marjan Noor

02 June 2016

Allen & Overy welcomes Marjan Noor as partner in the global IP practice. Joining from Simmons & Simmons where she has been a partner since 2010, Marjan will join A&O in London.

Marjan is one of the most highly regarded and sought after practitioners in the market place for patent litigation and regulatory advice in the life sciences sector. There are significant synergies between Marjan’s work and that of A&O’s contentious IP practice and she will add an additional dimension to the firm's growing life sciences practice group.

The appointment will also allow the A&O team to fully take advantage of the opportunities presented by the Unified Patent Court (UPC). The UPC represents the biggest ever shake up of European patent legislation and affects businesses in a range of sectors, including TMT, Life Sciences, Aerospace & Defence and Industrial & Manufacturing. Marjan's arrival is an important part of the firm's preparations for the UPC and the strategically significant patent litigation in this new forum.

Tim House, global head of litigation at Allen & Overy, comments: “Marjan is an excellent patent litigator and life sciences regulatory specialist. We are delighted to welcome her to our strategically important and thriving practice group. We are confident that Marjan's appointment will boost and strengthen our client offering.”

Marjan will join Nicola Dagg, Neville Cordell, Jim Ford, Mark Ridgway and Nigel Parker in A&O’s IP team in London, a key part of the firm's 15 strong global IP partner group.
