He will head the public law practice and promote its further growth. Olaf Otting joins from Gleiss Lutz, one of the leading firms in the field of public law. He will bring along his core team comprising Dr Wiland Tresselt and Dr Udo H. Olgemöller. The exact date of their joining Allen & Overy has not yet been fixed.

Olaf Otting is a qualified specialist in administrative law with a particular focus on procurement law, privatisations, public private partnerships, and building and real estate law. In the last years he headed the public law practice at Gleiss Lutz. In addition, he is the chairman of the procurement law committee and a member of the administrative law committee of the German Bar Association DAV as well as a member of the German Society for Environmental Law.
Regarding the motivation for his move, Olaf Otting explains: "After more than 14 years it has not been an easy decision to leave Gleiss Lutz. But the opportunity to actively shape and contribute to the dynamic growth of Allen & Overy in Germany by building up the public law practice was a prospect too exciting to miss. My move should be seen as a decision in favour of Allen & Overy, a dynamically developing law firm, which offers my team and myself excellent opportunities to strategically develop our business."
