UK Pensions Disputes: recent experience

​Our recent work includes:

  • Advising Prudential in a dispute over pension increases. Our client's approach was approved in a high profile application for directions to the High Court.
  • Advising the trustees of a pension scheme in a Pensions Ombudsman and High Court claim alleging breach of trust and negligence arising from a dispute between the trustees and a scheme member.
  • Acting for QinetiQ in a case concerning the validity of a proposed switch from RPI to CPI for the purposes of pension increases and revaluation.
  • Acting for representative beneficiaries in the Saga High Court rectification action and the Trustees in the Hogg Robinson rectification action.
  • Advising a large multinational and the trustee of its pension scheme in a multi-million pound professional negligence claim against two leading firms of pensions advisers.
  • Advising a leading UK manufacturer in a multi-million pound professional negligence claim against the existing administrators of its pension scheme
  • Advising a UK international airport in a complicated dispute about whether certain aspects of an employee's benefit package are pensionable.
  • Advising major multinational mass media and information firm on defending a potentially multimillion pound group action brought by a number of members of its pension scheme claiming that they were wrongly advised to transfer from the company's final salary scheme to its money purchase scheme.
