Sami is in the Projects, Energy and Infrastructure Group and ECA Group and serves as the Firm's relationship partner for a number of IFIs, including IFC, IDB Invest, DFC, U.S. Exim Bank, NADB and EDC. 

Sami's practice is predominantly focused on advising lenders (including ECAs, MLAs, other official credit agencies and commercial lenders) and sponsors on project finance and PPP transactions, as well as equity and fund investments, in Latin America and emerging markets around the world. He is a native English speaker and is fluent in Spanish.

Sami is ranked Band 1 for Agency Financing 2020-2023 and band 2 for Projects by Chambers USA 2022. Sami has been ranked Band 2 for Project Finance by Chambers Latin America 2024. Legal 500 has noted him as “an up and coming name amongst lending agencies.” In addition, Sami was named a 2016 Law360 “Rising Star,” which recognized his work as a top project finance attorney under the age of 40.

IDB Invest, IFC and certain ECA-covered lenders in the financing for the design, construction and operation of a dissolving wood pulp plant in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Awarded ‘Infrastructure Financing of the Year (Brazil)’ and ‘Loan of the Year’ by LatinFinance in 2020.
U.S. EXIM Bank, COFACE, Société Générale, Credit Suisse (Luxembourg), and Standard Chartered Bank, in connection with the USD390m secured direct loan to NewSat Limited, an Australian satellite communications provider, to finance the development, construction and launch (including launch insurance) of a Ka-band satellite manufactured by Lockheed Martin and launched by Arianespace.
