Focusing on the renewable energy sector, he handles transactions including development, debt finance, equity finance and mergers and acquisitions. Among his clients are global multinational entities, such as infrastructure and energy funds, pension funds, independent power producers, developers and leading national and international corporations. He provides advice on project design and transaction structuring at every phase of project development and financing, from project inception to equity investment to construction, permanent financing and refinancing.
Moritz splits his time between Hamburg and Los Angeles and offers an in-depth knowledge of the energy sector including the relevant markets allowing him to successfully negotiate PPAs and other offtake agreements. He has particular expertise with regard to offshore wind and hydrogen projects and regularly publishes on these topics.

Large consortium of commercial banks, SIDF, NIF and Euler Hermes on the financing of the NEOM Green Hydrogen giga project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, USD6.1bn of project finance debt and USD8.4bn. This is the world’s largest facility of this kind, will produce 600 tons of hydrogen per day and includes around 4GW combined renewable power from onshore solar, wind and battery storage.
Consortium of Norges Bank Investment Management, AIP Management and Allianz Capital Partners on the successful acquisition of a 49.9% stake in the 960 MW offshore wind project ""He Dreiht"" from EnBW. The project has an associated development cost of EUR 2.4bn.
