Leon specialises in real estate law and related notarial law.

He has broad experience in a wide variety of real estate transactions, including advising on commercial real estate transactions, controlled auctions of real estate portfolios, sale and lease back transactions, property development (including advising on joint ventures), urban redevelopment and the provision of security in financial transactions. Leon is also a recognised expert in the field of social housing and he advises social housing associations on subjects as compliance, governance, cooperation with third parties and local government as well as real estate related topics. Leon has acted for property developers, owners, investors, local governments, social housing associations, consultants and lenders.

Prior to joining A&O Shearman Leon was a partner at AKD. He is a member of the Vereniging Bouwrecht (construction law association) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Booking.com on the acquisition and development of its new 72,500 sq.m. new headquarters in the Amsterdam city centre. 

Fortress a U.S. investment manager, on the acquisition of the Bishop portfolio. 

ING on the internal restructuring of its corporate real estate portfolio in the Netherlands, consisting of acquisitions, leases and lease renewals, disposals and sale-and-leaseback transactions of several office buildings in the Amsterdam region and Arnhem, the acquisition and sale of its current HQ and the development and construction of its new HQ, including tax advice. 

Jumbo and its subsidiary La Place on the acquisition of 18 AC Restaurants from GR8 Investments. The acquired restaurants are converted to Jumbo formula La Place.
