Jamie works with financial services firms to help them navigate a wide range of UK and international regulatory requirements.

Jamie has worked for the firm for over 10 years and has experience advising leading clients across the financial services sector including brokers, banks, asset managers, hedge funds, trading venues, CCPs and payment systems.

As well as day-to-day regulatory matters, Jamie has particular experience working with clients on significant strategic projects including new product launches, licence applications, cross-border M&A or restructuring projects, regulatory change projects, and the design and drafting of new regulatory regimes. More recently Jamie has experience supporting both native fintech clients and traditional financial services firms navigate the evolving regulatory regimes applicable to novel digital asset classes.

Experience

Representative matters

Man Group and TP ICAP on their group re-organisation projects moving their headquarters from London to Jersey. These projects covered a range of regulatory and corporate processes in multiple jurisdictions.

Refinitiv and its shareholders, including Blackstone, on their USD 27bn acquisition by the London Stock Exchange Group and various subsequent disposals by those shareholders. This multijurisdictional project was one of the biggest FIG M&A deals in recent years.

A range of firms on their Brexit contingency planning and associated licence applications to support them navigating this significant change to existing European operating models.

A number of jurisdictions on the design and drafting of new regulatory regimes.

Pro bono

Mentoring young people through the firm’s award-winning Smart Start programme.

Jamie co-chairs his team’s DE&I Committee.
