Jaime has significant experience in notifying merger filing to the European Commission and the Spanish Competition Authority, as well as handling multijurisdictional filings to other competition authorities worldwide.
He also has substantial experience defending companies and trade associations in infringement proceedings dealing with collusive behaviour (cartels) and abuses of dominance. Jaime has also advised large multinational companies in state aid matters. Moreover, he has also litigated before the Spanish Audiencia Nacional (High Court equivalent) in competition law appeals. Jaime has advised in several sectors such as construction, foodstuff, retail, medical devices as well as in electronic payment devices.

Representative matters

Igneo on the sale of Parkia to Indigo Group.

FCC in the sale of 24.99% of its environmental subsidiary, FCC Servicios Medio Ambiente Holding, to the Canadian pension fund CPPIB.

Nexi in the acquisition of 80% of Paycomet (Banco Sabadell's payment business). Value of the operation: 280 M EUR.

A multinational energy and petrochemical company in relation to the sale of a 25% stake of its exploration and prospection business to EIG (valued at approx. EUR5b). This transaction gave rise to several merger control filings.
