Anna Madra

Anna is Head of Germany International Arbitration. She focuses on international commercial arbitration and advises on all stages of dispute resolution.

Anna acts as lead counsel in international commercial arbitrations, in particular in the energy, plant engineering and renewable energies sectors. She also advises on disputes under long-term contracts in general. She has experience of conducting arbitrations under a wide range of rules including those of the ICC, SCAI, DIS, LCIA, SCC, as well as in ad hoc arbitrations also under UNCITRAL rules.

She was qualified in Switzerland until 2016 and advises on German and Swiss law issues. She equally deals with issues relating to the recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards and judgments and is regularly appointed as arbitrator. Anna is a CEDR Accredited Mediator.

Anna is one of three arbitration lawyers in Germany being singled out as “Global Elite Thought Leader” by Who’s Who Legal in 2024 and she was featured as one of 45 under 45 globally by GAR. She is ranked by Chambers Global and by Chambers Europe as Band 3 arbitration counsel in Germany and is singled out as party representative by JUVE. She is member of the ASA board, serves as a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR and is a council member of the German Arbitration Institute.

Representative matters

Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG on a EUR120m facility granted to GLP, one of the largest logistic-oriented investors in the CEE region. The financing was used to refinance the construction of state-of-the-art logistic centers in Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary.

A consortium of Polish and international lenders on PLN1.9bn credit facilities granted to Tele-Fonika Kable S.A.

A club of lenders on a landmark transaction involving a EUR863.5m financing for BalticHub sp. z o.o. (previously operating under the name DCT sp. z o.o.) in relation to, among others, the construction of Terminal 3 of the deep water container terminal in Gdańsk. The Sponsors were PFR, IFM and PSA - one of the largest port operators in the world, present in 42 countries, managing ports in 160 locations and 66 terminals.

A private debt lender on the financing of the acquisition by a JV of Cornerstone Partners and Crestyl of one of the largest Polish developers.
