Applications for the second cohort of Allen & Overy’s solicitor apprenticeship programme are now open.

Following the successful launch of the programme in 2022, A&O will recruit a further six solicitor apprentices to begin in September 2023. These apprentices will spend time across A&O’s legal practice groups and will also have the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of other areas, such as: the Markets Innovation Group, Legal Tech, eDiscovery, Project Management and the firm’s tech innovation hub, Fuse.

The programme is aimed primarily at those completing their A-levels in 2023, but also welcomes applications from any candidates without a degree.

The Solicitor Level 7 Apprenticeship programme will see the next cohort undertake a six year apprenticeship; upon successful completion, they will become a qualified solicitor in England and Wales via the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) and they will have obtained an LLB (Hons) Law and Legal Practice from BPP University.

Early Careers Recruitment Partner and Training Principal, James Partridge, commented: “It’s really exciting that we’re recruiting for the second cohort of solicitor apprentices. We’ve been incredibly impressed by what our first cohort have already achieved since they started in September 2022.

“It’s important to us to be able to offer an alternative route into a legal career to a socio-economically diverse group of applicants and the continuation of our solicitor apprenticeship programme is another significant step on our journey to widening access to the legal profession.”

Applications are open until the 16th February 2023.
