In February this year, Allen & Overy extended its global network to Australia through the announcement of two new offices in Sydney and Perth. The decision underlines the increasing importance of Australia in the global and Asia-Pacific economies and enhances our ability to work on complex cross-border transactions and offer ground breaking new legal solutions in the Australian market.

Our new offices are staffed by 17 hand picked, top tier partners, each of whom have an exceptional track record of success and achievement across a range of industry sectors. Our team also includes partners and lawyers who are bi-lingual in numerous languages including Mandarin, Indonesian, German, French and Spanish.

The offices comprise five M&A/corporate partners, six banking & finance partners, three energy and natural resources partners, two real estate/investment funds partners and one tax partner. Each partner has considerable experience in the Australian and Asia Pacific market having practiced for between 10 and 25 years. They are now closely connected into our global network of experts and our global knowledge platform.

Our founding partners will shortly be joined by Dave Poddar, a competition/antitrust lawyer and Angus Jones, a energy and resources lawyer. Both Dave and Angus are recognised leading lawyers in the Asia Pacific region.
