Experience: 

Cathleen McLaughlin's U.S. capital markets experience includes varied transactional and advisory securities experience relating to SEC registered and unregistered (Reg S and Rule 144A) debt and equity offerings by U.S., Latin American and other foreign issuers. Cathleen founded the Latin American practice and has focused on building Allen & Overy's finance practice in Latin America. Cathleen has extensive experience in sovereign, corporate and infrastructure-related financings involving Latin American and European borrowers.

Cathleen was ranked in Chambers USA 2008, 2009 and 2010: "Founder of the Latin America practice group, and handles sovereign, capital markets, investment funds and multilateral lending work. She led the team for Goldman Sachs, and advised the Republic of Peru on two multibillion-dollar bond issuances."

Allen & Overy has advised the managers on the first Euro bond offering issued by Pfizer Inc. The proceeds of the offering were used for general corporate purposes, including to help fund Pfizer's acquisition of Wyeth and to refinance existing debt.
The Republic of Peru has issued its first international bond offering in two years, which was met with strong investor demand.
Allen & Overy LLP’s New York office successfully advised a leading pension fund in connection with its investment, as a lead investor, in a fund that invests in real estate in Brazil and certain other Latin American countries.
Allen & Overy has advised GVT (Holding) S.A., and its subsidiary Global Village Telecom Ltda., a leading facilities-based telecommunications and internet solutions provider in Brazil, in a series of recapitalization transactions culminating in its USD447 million initial public equity offering.
