Matthew is a partner in the derivatives and structured finance team of Allen & Overy's Hong Kong office and has a particular focus on structured synthetic products. He has advised in relation to various bespoke transactions, including leveraged super senior, managed and rules based credit CPPI, equity CPPI, fund-linked, credit index-linked and managed synthetic CDO products as well as advising on OTC transactions and on more commoditised credit and equity linked structures and retail structured products.

Matthew has recently advised a variety of major investment banks on issues and disputes arising from closing out derivatives positions and regularly advises on cross border OTC documentation issues. He is a regular speaker for ISDA. He is admitted in Hong Kong and England and has previously worked in Allen & Overy’s London, New York and Tokyo offices.
