Kevin O'Shea named New York managing partner

Kevin O’Shea is appointed managing partner of the New York office, Dan Cunningham continues as senior partner of global U.S. practice and Cathleen McLaughlin is appointed to the Allen & Overy board.

Kevin O'Shea will become the new managing partner of Allen & Overy's New York office, effective May 1, 2008. Kevin succeeds Michael Feldberg and Ian Shrank , the office’s current co-managing partners, who will return to full-time practice.

In addition, Dan Cunningham, will remain the senior partner of the Global U.S. Practice. Both appointments are for a three-year term. Cathleen McLaughlin, a partner in the international capital markets and Latin America groups, will also join the global partnership board for a two-year term.

Kevin has been the head of the U.S. Real Estate practice for the past six years, and will continue to lead that practice. He specializes in commercial real estate finance, equity investments, private equity fund formation and investment, workouts, restructurings and opportunistic joint ventures and investments. His practice also focuses on cross-border transactions involving the U.S., Europe and Asia.

Allen & Overy's New York office now has 39 partners and over 160 lawyers.
